Eagles News · Former SCA Baseball Player Gallegos Earns RMAC First Team Honors

Former SCA baseball player Jerry Gallegos earned First Team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors for the Colorado Christian Cougars. Gallegos was a SCA stand-out as he earned multiple all-state and all-conference awards while at SCA. Gallegos is Colorado Christian’s all time leader in hits, runs, doubles, triples, and total bases.

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its end of the season awards today, and topping the list for Colorado Christian University was senior Jerry Gallegos, who earned First Team honors.  The only other baseball player to be honored First Team All-RMAC was Andrew Kaiser in 2008.

Jerry Gallegos returned for his final year of eligibility this season and did not disappoint. Jerry had another exceptional season, ranking in the top three for the Cougars in nearly every major batting category including, hits, runs, RBI’s, doubles, home runs, total bases, walks, hit-by-pitch, and stolen bases. Jerry was also the only Cougar baseball player to start in every contest in 2018.

This incredible year caps off what is arguably CCU’s most illustrious and decorated careers. Gallegos will live in the Cougar record books for a very long time, owning the career records for hits, runs, doubles, triples, and total bases.
