Eagles continue to soar….(1/22/18)
SCA traveled to Victory Lane Sports Complex On Monday afternoon and came home with another win, 9-4 over Northwest Christian. Once again they came out swinging hot bats and plated 6 runs in the top of the 1st. The Crusaders answered back with 3 runs of their own….but wouldn’t score again until the 4th inning.
The fireworks started early as SCA recorded 3 consecutive base hits by Nick Taves, Daulton Lappe, and Jacob Trapp followed by a walk to plate the 1st run of the day. Before the inning was over, 5 more runs had scored and the Eagles batted around with Nick Taves going 2-2 with an RBI. The Eagles continued to play unselfish TEAM baseball, as the day was loaded with quality at bats and moving runners into scoring position. Taves and Jacob Trapp led the balanced offensive attack. Trapp reached base and scored all 3 times with a single, a base on balls, and a dropped 3rd strike.
With Kadon Quitno being ” called up” to Varsity last week, he passed the captain “C” to Nick “Nicky T” Taves. Taves responded by going out on the bump and pitching 3 strong innings, while striking out 7 to get the win. Collyn Jago made his Eagles pitching debut when he took the ball for the final inning and struck out 2 to seal the game.
The Eagles look to avenge their only loss of the season on Thursday (1/25) as they travel for the last time this season and face Horizon Honors. Game time is 3:30
