Your 7-3 Scottsdale Christian Eagles men’s basketball team played in the consolation game of the annual Jared Frame Cactus Jam Saturday against the Prairie High School Falcons, who were visiting Arizona from Washington State.
The Eagles offense would continue their struggles from the previous game. Unable to get easy baskets, the Eagles continued their reliance on the three-pointer, connecting on just 30% of their shots from behind the arc.
The Eagles were lead in the opening quarter by Senior point-guard Reed Myers who scored 7 points and Senior forward Ethan Spry with 4. But they would end the quarter down 14-19 and would not regain the lead.
The second quarter saw much of the same and the Eagles struggled to close the gap. But the Falcons offense would prove too much for the Eagles as they extended their lead to eight, 31-39. SCA was lead in the half by Myers with 12 and Junior Jordan Moody with 9.
The SCA offense would go cold in the third quarter as they managed just 9 points and the Falcons extended their lead to 14. The fourth quarter would see much of the same as the Eagles, with the help of a few three-pointers, would add just 10 points to the scoreboard, having scored only 19 in the half, and the Falcons ran away with a 48-67 win.
The Eagles placed two scorers in double figures. Myers finished with 18 points and Spry who finished with 10 points.
