Scottsdale Christian Girls Volleyball team took down Santa Cruz on Tuesday night. Due to all the recent rain in the Valley, a leak happened in the gym causing the game to be moved to the practice court. The Eagles also had a guest announcer that generated a few laughs as well.
Overall as a team, the Eagles had a very good passing night. The team had a passing rating of 2.4. The Eagles also had 10 aces with an 89% serving percentage.
The play of Senior OH Lauren Ohlinger and Junior OH Taylor Raiola was stellar. Both combined for 19 kills. Ohlinger hit .800 and Raiola hit .875. Senior Libero Emma Whitehead lead the team with 6 aces on 33 serving attempts. Whitehead also had a thunderous back row kill that caused the gym to erupt. Freshman Setter, Jadyn Armstrong had 26 assists and Sophomore Middle, Sophia Wadsworth had no errors on the night with 2 kills.
Sophomore, Kylie Lynne had an around performance and was named Player of the Game. Lynne had 2 kills, 1 ace and a .400 hitting percentage.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday night against Rancho Solano. This will be a home game and Varsity begins at 6pm.
