Scottsdale Christian Girls Volleyball team defeats Veritas Prep, 3-0. This was the first match up of the two teams since they met in the State Championship game last year in which SCA won in 3 sets. SCA defeated Veritas Prep without their star Senior OH, Lauren Ohlinger, who was on her official visit to Boise State and Freshman Setter, Lexi Lambert, who has been out all week in Concussion Protocol.

The Eagles had great energy and court connection this afternoon and did not disappoint the crowd on a very special day in which the team celebrated the Elementary students of SCA. The team of Middles, Junior Caroline Montgomery and Sophomore Sophia Wadsworth lead the team up front and dominated the net. Montgomery lead the team with 12 blocks and also had 5 kills while hitting .500. Wadsworth had had 12 kills and a hitting percentage of .800. These two talented players were named Co-Players of the Game with their performance.

Junior OH, Taylor Raiola had a team high 14 kills with a .393 hitting percentage. Other highlights include, Freshman Setter, Jadyn Armstrong had 32 assists and 2 serving aces and Senior Libero, Emma Whitehead lead the team with 11 digs and 3 aces.

As a team, the Eagles hit .405 and had 38 kills on the night. The Eagles also had 10 serving aces and a season high 18 blocks!

Up next is another home game for the Eagles on Tuesday, October 9th against ASU Prep with the Varsity starting play at 6pm. Go Eagles!
